Armstrong Learning are a business involved in the design and delivery of distance learning courses for unemployed people seeking to enter the music and creative industries. They were instrumental in developing materials for the 1st phase of New Deal for Musicians and continue to evolve innovative solutions for their customers and the new MIP/NDfM programme. They are our partners in delivering the MIP/NDfM programme nationally.
We are proud to announce that from Sept we will delivering the audio and music technology modules of The University of Greenwich's new Entertainment Technologies & Music Production degree.

Over the last few decades each successive UK government has funded training for the unemployed through differing initiatives.
Shortly after the current government came to power it launched the New Deal initiative.
Under the New Deal, an individual who is registered unemployed may choose a course of training from a wide range of state and private education establishments offering courses funded under New Deal, subject to eligibility.
We currently offer our our Music Production and Multimedia courses, and MIP / New Deal For Musicians mentoring programme funded under the New Deal.
In partnership with London Development Agency, the ESF are funders of the new Digital Fusion STEP initiative. We are a major partner in this initiative.
Skills training are one of the prime contractors for our FTET and 25+ New Deal JobCentre Plus training courses for the unemployed. We deliver our Music Production and Multimedia courses through this provision.

Courses which teach our City & Guilds qualifications in Sound Engineering, Music Technology and Multimedia are currently run at our headquarters in South London and at 14 other colleges and training studios across Great Britain and Ireland.
As authors of the qualifications, IMT acts as the national administration and moderation centre for the programme. Profiles of our satellite centres can be found here.
Any organisation that meets City & Guilds criteria for training, evaluation and verification can also run these courses. We offer comprehensive advice and support to help a satellite centre to get up and running.

This is a new London Development Agency / European Social Fund funded initiative to support creative media related entrepreneurial activities among the unemployed in London. We deliver Multimedia, Music Technology, and Sound Engineering training and career help courses through this provision.

City & Guilds have been overseeing qualifications for more than 100 years. They are a respected organisation world wide and are diligent in ensuring standards are maintained.
City & Guilds qualification are well established industry recognised marks of merit and competence and must be worked for and passed before being awarded. They are not merely certificates of attendance as with some other courses. Success is dependent on motivation and commitment.
Experience has shown that successful completion of a qualification to be a key factor in helping graduates progress and find employment within the music and multimedia industries and related businesses.
