Our City & Guilds qualifications

The City & Guilds 2337 suite of Sound Recording and Music Technology qualifications, and the 2338 Multimedia qualification were created by us

They are well respected, authoratative and challenging, and have been designed to teach current industry technologies and working practises.

These qualifications are only available through the Institute's own courses and programmes run at our headquarters, and those administered by us at our satellite centres.

What are City & Guilds qualifications?

City & Guilds qualification are well established industry recognised marks of merit and competence and must be worked for and passed before being awarded. They are not merely certificates of attendance as with some other courses. Success is dependent on motivation and commitment.

Experience has shown that successful completion of a qualification to be a key factor in helping graduates progress and find employment within the music and multimedia industries and related businesses.

City & Guilds assessment procedures

These qualifications are based on continuous assessment and include observation of practical competence, oral question evaluation, and the creation of a portfolio of supporting evidence. There are no formal written exams.

Additionally, students must pass an external verification procedure by a verifier not connected with the ongoing delivery and assessment of the course.
