What is a creative apprenticeship?
These are 1 year programmes designed to help people develop careers in the creative industries by giving them qualifications and jobs. You will work full time with an employer in the creative sector and study one day a week with us on day release.
Who can apply?
If you are currently employed or have been signing on for over 9 months you can access the Creative Apprenticeship programme. If you are under the age of 19 you can fast track into the course.
What apprenticeships are available?
We offer Creative Apprentices in ...
- Live events and promotion
- Music business (Recording industry)
- Technical theatre (rigging, lighting & sound)
- Costume and wardrobe
- Cultural and heritage venue operations
- Community arts management
Each apprentice studies a GCSE or A level equivalent industry standard EDI VRQ qualification, a certificate in technical competence, and key skills in numeracy and communication. Employers consider all of these essential elements if an apprentice is to meet the required level of competency for a specific job role.

Employer requirements
Your employer will need to ...
- Employ the apprentice on a part or full time basis. Most employers pay apprentices between £95 - £160 per week (can be more if already in employment)
- Help support the training that we provide to ensure that the person becomes a skilled
employee
- Provide on the job development for the apprentice
Eligibility
You must be ...
- Aged 16+
- Employed / prepared to work for a minimum of 30 weeks
- Non-graduate
- Ambitious, creative , reliable and keen to succeed
- Prepared to work a minimum 16 hours per week
- Available to train on day release
