About the 2337-03 Music Technology City & Guilds qualification

Students studying on our courses can take our City & Guilds 2337-03 Music Technology qualification assessment.

Our qualifications are recognized marks of merit and competence and must be worked for and passed before being awarded. They are not merely certificates of attendance as with some other courses. Success is dependent on motivation and commitment.

Unit 17 / Safety procedures

The purpose of this unit is to introduce students to correct and safe procedures within a workplace and the safe installation, operation and maintenance of equipment sited there.

Unit 18 / MIDI basics

The purpose of this unit is to introduce students to the concepts and operation of MIDI systems.

Unit 19 / Connectors and synchronisation

The purpose of this unit is to introduce students to the concepts and techniques of analogue and digital audio signal interconnection.

Unit 20 / Drum programming

The purpose of this unit is to introduce students to basic music theory and the concepts and operation of drum programming technologies.

Unit 21 / Synthesis

The purpose of this unit is to introduce students to the audio theory and the concepts and techniques of sound synthesis.

Unit 22 / Sequencing

The purpose of this unit is to introduce students to the concepts and techniques of MIDI sequencing.

Unit 23 / Sampling

The purpose of this unit is to introduce students to the concepts of digital audio theory and the concepts and operation of sampling technologies.

Unit 24 / Effect processors

The purpose of this unit is to introduce students to the theory and techniques of time domain and reverberation technologies.

Unit 25 / Multitrack recording

The purpose of this unit is to introduce students to the concepts and techniques of audio multitrack recording and mixing.

Unit 26 / Computing systems

The purpose of this unit is to introduce students to basic computer concepts and the use of computer systems in music production.
