Work placements - overviewTaking on a work placement student

How do I take on a student?

Employers who wish to offer a work placement can either contact us directly (use the links in the right hand column) or arrange it through the student. In either case we will contact you to ensure that the procedure is trouble free, transparent and takes into account the requirements and expectations of employer, students and us.

We are not in the business of making the experience a difficult one for the employer, and providing the usual health and safety checks etc are satisfactory, and all are happy with the arrangements, we will complete a short document (Work Placement Provider Agreement, see right hand column) which includes details of the arrangements and individual responsibilities including training and work activities.

We will visit you at least once during the arrangement to see how things are going, offer you support, and tell you about any new initiatives and incentives you may be interested in. Basically to have a chat!

In rare cases things do not proceed as planned, and if after a week or two we find the arrangement is not working out, then either the employer, student or us can terminate the arrangement.
